Job Description Surveyer will operate and maintain all technical surveying instruments and measuring devices needed to complete different types of survey assignments for pipeline projects. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
oPlace marks, stakes, pins, and monuments.
oDrive stakes to fix survey points and determine location data to be placed on stakes.
oHold survey rod and measure distances using tape.
oObtain data pertaining to angles, distances, elevations, and descriptions and attribute various surveying instruments.
oVerify levels, alignment, and elevation of items to be constructed.
oPerform routine analysis to check applicability, accuracy, and reasonableness of data.
oCompile notes, sketches, and records of data obtained and work performed, and keep same in a field book.
oReduce and plot survey notes.
oParticipate in basic layout and field engineering activities.
oPerform maintenance of field equipment and maintain supplies for survey crew.
oWork with the Party Chief to meet the goals of the project in a safe and efficient manner
Candidate Specification Qualified candidates should have:
oMinimum of 2 years pipeline surveying experience.
oFamiliarity with commonly used surveying terms and with the use and care of survey tools and other survey field equipment used for measuring, sighting, and leveling.
oFamiliarity with and proficiency in the operation of survey equipment such as the Total Station/Data Collector, Level, and various Global Positioning System (GPS) methods.
oFamiliarity with the latest software for downloading survey data from data collectors.
oStrong work ethic and team-player attitude.
oStrong technical, documentation, and organizational skills.
oMust pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
