BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience/knowledge 5-10 years of speaker and subwoofer design experience (CE market) Experience working in a manufacturing environment Possess a positive, can-do attitude Exceptional organizational and time management skills Competency in Solidworks 2013, FEA, Schematic capture, PCB layout, MS office, MS Project software Competency and understanding of the English language (verbal and written) Experience with implementation of CE wireless technologies is as asset Effective interpersonal and communication skills
Position Summary
Design and development of audio products from conceptual design to production. Research and development of audio components, materials and manufacturing processes. Approximately 20% international travel required.
Key Relationships
The audio engineer reports to the Director of Product Development.
Responsibilities
Product Design and Engineering
Interface with other functional teams
o Product Development
o Local Manufacturing
o Asia Manufacturing
o Quality Control
o Operations/Supply Chain
mechanical design based on industrial design renderings
create 2D drawings and 3D models in Solidworks
3D photo realistic product rendering
Full range and subwoofer driver design, simulation, testing, and optimization
Full range and subwoofer system design, simulation, prototyping, testing and optimization including acoustic design and passive crossover design
Amplifier DSP parameter target function design; limiter and EQ
Work with OEM, ODM to create:
o production friendly and cost effective designs
o Validation, Safety/EMI testing profile
o Development and Maintain timelines
o Optimal manufacturing techniques and improve components performance
Detailed electrical, mechanical, acoustic, and cosmetic sample evaluation
Incoming component, end of line and outgoing QC test spec creation and management
Evaluate and modify ODM/OEM QC and validation
DVR, PP and MP QC; on site in China, Indonesia and localEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
