Summary:
Provide preliminary design and drafting using AutoCAD 2008 in support of engineering on project activities involving Architectural, Mechanical and Electrical disciplines. Assists with the preparation of supporting documents for capital investment. Provide design details for tooling used in food production environment. Must be technically competent in AutoCAD 2D, 3D and Solidworks 3D with the preparation of industrial drawings used for: equipment tooling, equipment layouts, process flow sheets, P&ID's, equipment fabrication and architectural, mechanical and electrical disciplines. Prepare specifications to satisfy the full range of design responsibilities for projects. Ability to prepare and assemble a bid package following the AIA specification format. Ability to execute small projects. Good knowledge of both process and packaging design in a food factory environment in order to adequately provide detailed design drawings.
Primary
Responsibilities:
Plan, develop and draft key drawings or documents in alignment with Nestle standards (Site plans, General Arrangement drawings, etc) to satisfy project requirements in terms of technical, quality, cost of the installation and schedule. Propose and define different alternatives.
Preparation of supporting documents such as specifications, details, sections, etc. that will be used for contractor bidding. Must be familiar with hygienic design related details. Perform inter-discipline design coordination.
Create, update and maintain key drawings (Manufacturing Flowsheets, Single Lines, Plant layouts, etc.) for Nestle USA and Canada factories. Insure accuracy through field verifications of site conditions, equipment installations and related/associated dimensions.
Investigate information required to improve existing equipment, select new or replacement equipment, as well as support the documentation function with vendors, engineers, or other resources.
Update and coordinate technical guidelines and construction specifications.
Other duties as assigned
Bachelors degree in Engineering strongly preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required.
Professional certification in industrial design/drafting, specifically using AutoCAD.
Technically competent and hghly proficient in use of 2D/3D AutoCAD 2011 or later.
Knowledge of building codes (OSHA, AIA, UBC, BOCA, etc) and Instrument Society of America (ISA) symbols and stds.
Solidworks experience is a plus.
Specialized technical training in industrial architectural, mechanical and electrical applications (as required).
8-12 years of experience in industrial design, food plant applications preferred
