The Marketing Manager functions as the liaison between Sales, Marketing and Finance to drive sales and increase market share. This person is responsible for data analysis to drive recommendations, the development and execution of promotional strategies as well as preparation for key customer meeting presentations. This includes a base knowledge of customer go-to-market strategies, competitive programs, packaging, pricing, etc.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Model the Spectrum Brands eight Core Capabilities to achieve service excellence, meet and exceed organizational objectives and support fiscal responsibility.
Identify channel specific opportunities/strategies to increase distribution and maximize sales.
New distribution opportunities
Product/category management strategies
Promotional plans
Pricing strategies
Manage account level data reporting and analysis with the responsibility for knowing product and category trends within specific account base.
Analyze POS (point of sale) data of Spectrum Brands products and competitive products to develop recommendations and specific selling stories.
Work with the category management team to understand retail category business trends, share of space analysis and make appropriate recommendations.
Manage the execution of channel or account specific products, merchandising displays and promotions.
Manage channel information, provides feedback and recommendations to sales, brand marketing and cross-functional teams.
Lead development of major account sales presentations and participates in account meetings.
Support day to day operations between sales, marketing, finance, and supply chain.
Manage Marketing Interns.
Required Skills

Strong communication and written skills.
Proven analytical ability and presentation skills.
Ability to organize and manage multiple, time-sensitive projects.
Must work well in a team setting and with various levels within the organization.
Strong working knowledge of Word & Outlook. High proficiency in PowerPoint & Excel required.
Ability to know/learn order entry system (SAP) and be fluent in internal processes in a timely manner.
Syndicated Data: Proficient experience in using AC Nielsen, IRI, or similar market and household panel data.
Required Experience

Bachelors Degree in Business, Marketing or Statistics required.
3-5 years of category management, trade or product marketing experience in a peer CPG or related environment.
Prior sales support related job experience preferred.


Work Environment

Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
