System Administrator

Cardiocom, Medtronic's leading telehealth company has an exciting opportunity as a System Administrator. The IT System Administrator is responsible for implementing and supporting Windows servers and applications following industry standards and best practices. This position will be responsible for ensuring system uptime and availability. This will be done by implementing tools which will identify and correct problems before they affect system performance.
POSITION
Responsibilities:
o Proactively monitor performance and perform maintenance on Windows servers to ensure reliability and uptime.
o Design, implement and support complex server architectures that may include load balancing, server clustering, VMWare, and other technologies.
o Execute data backups and disaster recovery procedures.
o Perform application hardware and software troubleshooting within a helpdesk environment.
o Troubleshoot software installations in a remote support environment.
o Help customers resolve technical problems in a timely manner.
o Document issues and resolutions in help desk ticketing software.
o Perform audit and compliance tasks as necessary.
o Provide after-hours support and respond promptly to emergency situations

EDUCATION REQUIRED:
o Bachelors degree in an IT related field
YEARS OF
Experience:
o 5
year's hands-on experience in information technology.
o 2
year's hands-on experience with MS SQL database systems.
DESIRED/PREFERRED
Qualifications:
o Excellent technical problem solving abilities
o Able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines
o Able to promptly answer support related email, phone calls and other electronic communications
o Detail-oriented and organized
o Experience with hardware and software issues
o Proficient in Internet related applications such as E-Mail clients, FTP clients and Web Browsers
o Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills
o Positive attitude
o Experience with the following applications beneficial: Symantec Backup Exec, Symantec Endpoint Protection, DoubleTake Availability and IIS6
o Experience with VoIP, SIP, IVR and VPN tunneling a plus
o Willing to travel
o Veterans encouraged to apply
