Provide systems engineering for the company's construction equipment instrument clusters and displays throughout the system life cycle of the controller from concept stage to retirement stage. Convert platform requirements for display into functional definitions by performing requirements analysis and architectural design. Work closely with software engineers on implementation and perform integration testing with other controllers on the CAN bus. Develop display interface definitions with engine, UCM, transmission and other controllers. Create functional specifications, diagnostics trouble code specifications and test cases for validation on HIL (Hardware in Loop). Support DFMEA process. Conduct Functional Safety reviews. Review progress of projects and provide frequent progress updates to the manager. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise. Use various technologies and software tools, including Polarion for requirements management and change management; CANalyzer and PCAN explorer for measurement and analysis; C programming language for programming; CAN and J1939 protocols for vehicle network communication; MATLAB, Simulink and State flow for software development and analysis; and KEIL for compilation. 10% travel may be required to other CNH locations both domestic and international.
Required: Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering, and five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience as an Electrical or Display Systems Engineer-Vehicular Instrument Clusters. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree and five years of experience, the employer will accept a Master's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering, and three (3) years of experience as an Electrical or Display Systems Engineer-Vehicular Instrument Clusters. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree and five years of experience or a Master's degree and three years of experience. As part of the experience being required, applicants must have had: experience in designing and developing instrument clusters using microcontrollers; experience in developing instrument clusters with conventional hardwired systems and CAN protocol based systems; experience in researching and analyzing customer design proposals, specifications and performance requirements to evaluate the feasibility, cost and maintenance requirements of instrument cluster product designs and applications; experience in specifying system components and modifications of instrument cluster products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications; experience in generating engineering documentation, including 8Ds, DVP&Rs and FMEAs; experience in using 8, 16 and 32 bit microcontrollers; experience with communication protocols, including RS232, RS485, and CAN; experience in developing aspects of instrument clusters, including warning indicators for turn signals, seats, fuel level, parking brakes, low battery, and high temperature; experience in using C, MATLAB, Simulink & Stateflow for software application development; experience in conducting field trials; and experience in conducting product Functional Safety reviews.
