Reporting to the Vice President of Transportation Services, the Freight Broker will provide logistics support move inventory in the most cost effective way by identifying and providing transportation solutions. In this role, you will manage a portfolio of accounts while working in a team environment. Business is generated prospecting.
Teamwork, Adaptability, and Attention to Detail will make you the right person to take on this new challenge. Links needs a Brokerage Pro with the will and the skill.
Responsibilities:
Interact with carriers to ensure only quality services at cost effective rates are utilized
Phone and e-mail contact with customers and carriers to solicit business opportunities
Register customer orders and shipment status information into system and communicate service updates to customers and team
Negotiate rates and service with carriers
Issue complete, accurate and timely load confirmations to carrier
Work cooperatively with team members on sharing available carrier capacity information
REQUIREMENTS:
Prior brokerage experience with both LTL and Truckload freight is mandatory
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team skills
Prior experience in a 3PL environment preferred
Strong problem solving/decision making skills
Self-starter - motivated and able to set priorities and meet established deadlines
Strong organizational skills to ensure proper documentation management
