Company in Oldsmar is looking for a Machine Maintenance Technician (1st Shift)
Pay: $14-$17/HR
POSITION SUMMARY
Maintains production equipment utilizing both mechanical and electrical skills in conjunction with experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, controllers, and drive components working in all aspects of reactive, preventive, and predictive situations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance for all hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and electrical production equipment and it's support equipment
Diagnose equipment operating problems, making repairs as well as replacing parts when required
Maintain a clean, high quality work environment throughout the facility according to company, industry and governmental regulations.
Repair and maintain all production machinery, utility systems, facility equipment, electrical/ electronic controls, piping/tubing, pneumatic controls and support systems
Continuously follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
Prepare proper documentation and ensures it is continuously completed, updated and transmitted to appropriate personnel.
Remove and replace worn or defective parts of machinery
Develop and follow a preventative maintenance schedule for all areas of plant.
Inspects equipment for proper lubrication and performs scheduled preventative maintenance.
Troubleshoot machinery operation to detect working defects or machine malfunction.
Discuss machine operation variations with supervisors and technicians to diagnose problems and optimize equipment performance.
Dismantle machinery and equipment to gain access to problem area.
Inspect and measure machinery parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems.
Assist in the installation and start up of new machinery and equipment to test operation.
Repair electrical equipment.
Ensure work practices are compliant with company and OSHA safety rules and standards.
Operate all machinery as needed.
Assist machine operators to set up and operate machinery, pack, and transport finished work pieces, as needed.
Maintain inventory levels of spare parts and supplies as necessary.
Operate a variety of hand and power tools, shop equipment and machining tools.
Other duties as requested by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
Two year mechanical certificate from college or technical school and a minimum of 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong machine maintenance experience in a production/manufacturing environment.
Strong technical skills in mechanical, pneumatics and maintenance of high speed production machinery and equipment.
Proficient in performing preventative maintenance on hydraulic, pneumatic, conveyor systems.
Strong working knowledge and troubleshooting skill for electrical distribution systems up to 480 volt 3 phase.
Must have a working knowledge of solid state devices such as: proximity sensors, cam switches / relays, as well as servo / DC motors and controls.
Ability to troubleshoot/repair PLCs, single phase, three phase and above systems.
Excellent trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Additional knowledge of the following equipment: pumps, fork trucks, air compressors & dryers, etc.
Must be able to interpret blue prints, manuals, machine specs and electrical schematics.
Experience with A/C units is a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
Must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock.
Noise level in the work environment is loud.
Hair nets are required to be worn at all times and all hair must fit within the hair net.
No jewelry, chains, or additional ornamentation on clothing can be worn.
Preferably facial hair is not present. Any facial hair that is present must be covered by a mask at all times.
Background check and drug screen required.
