JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the operation, leadership, management and staff supervision of the Environmental Services department to ensure that the facilities are maintained in a sanitary, attractive, and orderly condition to meet Joint Commission and state and local standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Manage daily operations including resources management. Supervise staff, monitor and prioritize workflow.
Manage the selection, training, development and evaluation of assigned staff. This includes participating in hiring, firing, and staff performance/competency evaluations.
Serve as liaison between Environmental Services department and other units to insure the department is serving the customers in a timely, efficient and cost productive manner. Represent EVS at interdepartmental meeting (i.e.: safety, infection control and any other applicable committee meeting).
Problem solve and resolution.
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and organizational/departmental policies and procedures.
Participate in the budget development, monitoring financial performance process and establish and monitor excellent vender relationships and contracts for outsourced services.
Monitor performance indicators for service levels and develop and implement performance improvement actions and identify opportunities to enhance customer service through improved processes. Identify projects for improvement and manage all approved projects through implementation and support.
Keep abreast of new equipment and technology.
Formulate, plan for and direct in service training and educational programs for department staff.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree in a related field preferred or a combination of education and experience that provides the caregiver with the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job.
Experience/training :
Minimum of two years supervisory experience in institutional environmental series required, management experience preferred. Hospital experience preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
