ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Support and drive health and safety initiatives.
Ensures manufacturing areas are kept clean and organized.
Reviews productions orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.
Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
Review production and operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
Consults with engineering personnel relative to modifications of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products.
Compiles stores and retrieves production data.
Analyzes work orders to estimate worker hours and create machining schedules that meet both internal and external needs for assembly department for all shifts.
Interprets specification and job orders to workers, and assigns duties for all shifts.
Insures all shifts verify parts and product conform to specifications. Maintains scrap at less than 1.1%.
Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department or work crew.
Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with co-workers, all plant personnel, upper management, production schedulers, outside contractors, visitors, and auditors.
Other duties and responsibility may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY
Responsibilities: Directly supervises all production Supervisors/Team Managers on all shifts. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of all subordinate personnel. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities includes, but not limited to, interviewing, training employees, planning, assigning, directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
COMPETENCIES: The mid-level manager must have the ability to communicate, make decisions, excellent interpersonal skills, lead people, motivate, strategically plan, manage human resources, manage programs/projects, have sound fiscal management, have technology competence, interact with external environment, and manage innovation and change, and a drive for learning and achievement.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effective present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills: High level of understanding in Mathematics. Ability to work with concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Must be creative, have excellent analytical skills.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, presentation software, accounting software, inventory software, and internet software and manufacturing software.
Education and/or
Experience: Four years or more of college education or Bachelors degree equivalent in an appropriate discipline and seven to ten years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Prefer : 10 years experience in manufacturing management with a Bachelor degree.
