Job Duties Responsibilities GEICO - a proven online, mobile and industry leader -- seeks a proven highly driven, experienced Lead Oracle DBA to join our growing Open Systems DBA team. As a Lead Oracle DBA, you will lead a team of Oracle DBA's in supporting database environments for Sales and Service applications. The candidate will interact with peers other leads, managers, and potentially Senior Management to achieve corporate objectives. Additionally, interaction with Oracle Corporation will be an on-going responsibility that will require solid analytical and interpersonal skills. Responsibilities will include triaging/tracking issues, providing solutions to resolve defects, and leading projects to implement enhancements and upgrades to the Oracle infrastructure. Candidate Qualifications o Minimum of 2 years' experience leading teams, managing projects, supporting a 24x7 production environments in a service oriented support team
o Develop and adhere to common standards and procedures within a production operations unit. Strong communications and interpersonal skills are a critical component
o The ideal candidate will have several years of hand-on experience as an Oracle DBA, preferably on Linux and VMware platforms
o Knowledge of the Oracle database platform including installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance tuning of Oracle instances on Oracle 10g / 11g, Oracle RAC, Grid Control, Streams, and Data guard are important
o Application development life cycle, Unix / Linux shell scripting, PL / SQL, and data modeling are a plus
o Good team player with a strong team concept, self-motivation, and excellent verbal and written communication skills
