Our client, a well established organization in the forestry industry has a rare opportunity for an Electrical Controls Engineer to join their engineering team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years experience in a similar role, and will be very well compensated. Duties include but not limited to:
-Design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and control systems.
-Performing engineering design evaluations.
-Recommending alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures.
-Familiarity with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
-Relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
-Collaborating with existing operations, managers, and team members, to schedule and implement projects with and in operating areas to minimize plant and/or equipment down time.
-Providing support to the Project Manager dealing with the schedule, scope, budget, design engineering, planning, and coordination of projects.
The ideal Electrical Controls Engineer will have the following qualifications and abilities:
-Degree in Electrical Engineering
-PLC programmer fluent with multiple software systems which include: RSLogix for PLC-5, 5000, Control Logix, RSView, Excel, Word and AutoCad. Also proficient in Visual Basic.
-Able to set up Allen Bradley Drives and integrate them into the controls system.
-Provide on-site procedures to ensure safe and efficient work methods are used
-Provide cost analysis of alternatives to determine cost effective installation practices
-Resolve a variety of complex problems (i.e. conflicting design requirements, suitability of materials and equipment, construction costs vs. project budget)
-Plan and coordinate crew and equipment resources to ensure installations are timely and within budget
-Develop new construction techniques and procedures.
-Knowledge and application of NEC code, NFPA 70e, and OSHA Regulations
-Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects to meet production schedule/project requirements
-Capable of independently developing complex machine or machine system controls including hardware layouts and specifications, operational descriptions and specifications and programming to satisfy these specifications, testing and implementation (start-up), and including oversight of other team members and/or vendors providing the same.
