Gerdau is currently seeking a Sr. Demand Planner for its Jackson Office, MI facility.

Position Overview
In this role, the Senior Demand Planner leads and coordinates the demand planning process aligning the Company's Marketing, Sales, and Finance plans to a consensus demand forecast. Responsibilities include providing effective information to support decision making, supporting collaborative planning processes to increase supply chain visibility, and driving supply chain performance improvements.
The role is responsible for managing and administering the monthly demand process at three steel mills and six value added facilities. This includes facilitating the development of the Sales (Outside and inside) and Market Intelligence monthly forecast worksheets and coordinating the data updates and alignments within the statistical forecasting model. This position works in close coordination with the company's sales and finance teams and chairs the demand planning meeting.
The Demand Planner will lead the monthly Demand Planning meeting to create a consensus demand plan with participation and agreement from Finance and Sales. The incumbent's main responsibility will be to accumulate all available product change information in order to make informed adjustments to the statistically generated baseline demand forecast. The focus of the meetings is to provide a comprehensive review of forecast at the industry/product level to determine adjustments by exception.
Responsibilities:
Generates and presents the monthly 12 - 18 month baseline statistical forecast on all products by hierarchy/mill for review, discussion, and consensus
Gathers and analyses Sales and Market Intelligence and incorporates into baseline forecast
Reviews forecast exceptions based performance metrics from prior period
The Demand Planner will lead the monthly Demand Planning meeting to create a consensus demand plan with participation and agreement from Finance and Sales.
Reviews and highlights product exceptions
Organizes and leads the monthly demand planning meeting, including conflict resolution
Has authority to challenge marketing adjustments to baseline forecast and drive consensus among S&OP, Sales & marketing and Finance teams
Records all action items and maintains monthly forecast changes
Generates final consensus demand plan and passed information to Supply Planning Team
Establish, monitor and conduct weekly/monthly demand planning scorecard metrics (KPI's) and act upon trends;
Owns and maintains the process and data requirements associated with the demand planning process;
Identify profit maximization opportunities;
Prepare and present management reports at all levels of the organization from the Company President to individual facility leaders.

Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business, Finance or related/applicable discipline required. (Master's Degree a plus!)

years' experience in operations and supply chain required
2
years' experience in demand planning/forecasting required
Advanced skills and experience with Microsoft Excel required
APICS CPIM, APICS CSCP, IBF CPF, or other supply chain oriented professional development certification preferred, but not required.
Intermediate skills/experience with MS Word, Access and PowerPoint
Thorough understand of supply chain interaction required
Previous ERP experience for Planning (SAP APC a plus!)
Excellent communication skills required
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to interpret quantitative and quantitative data and communicate results clearly and concisely
