Job Description:
JOB PURPOSE:
To coordinate the day-to-day logistics activities for inbound and outbound transportation; to coordinate payment, collections, and cost containment activities within the Logistics function; to coordinate and maintain off-site inventory activities to assure adherence to all policies and procedures; assist with Planning and maintenance of Risk Management policies
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - GENERAL FOCUS
Plan, coordinate and dispatch truck and rail freight for various production and offsite locations
Prioritize, communicate and provide administrative support to ensure that orders meet commitments
Proactively resolve day-to-day issues that may impact internal or external customers
Ensure shipments are in compliance with all safety and environmental rules and regulations and company policies
Audit freight payables information and provide supporting documentation
Input freight rates and assist with database maintenance
Ensure compliance with DOT and AAR regulations
Lead rate request process including negotiation of rates
Provide back up support for other logistics coordinators and team members
Damage and claims facilitation and support
Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations
Perform other duties as necessary
RAIL FOCUSED:
Review and monitor data such as sales forecasts, mill production, and inventory to ensure railroad freight meets customers expectations
Review and modify information relative to rail car capacity and utilization
Monitor inbound and outbound rail car supply activity and initiate corrective actions as necessary
Assist with rate request process by working with representatives to provide timely, accurate, and competitive freight quotes to LP
Coordinate balance due process including payables, receivables, auditing, depreciation of assets, and other items that impact LP's income statement
Ensure the incorporation of public and private tariffs and contracts in the Rate management module of LP's AS400 CORE system
TRUCK AND CENTRAL DISPATCH FOCUSED:
Communicate with production coordinators, carriers, and sales teams on a daily basis.
Monitor truck capacity to determine if carrier base is adequate
Conduct audits and provide reports relative to on time shipping goals
Daily negotiation of freight rates with carriers for all traffic lanes
Uses independent judgment to process expedited freight in a cost effective manner
Maintain Insurance and endorsements database for LP carriers and enforce compliance eligibility. Build relationships with carriers as first point of contact.
Coordinate with Legal Department to negotiate Motor Transportation Agreements and other contracts
OFFSITE INVENTORY MANAGEMENT FOCUSED:
Coordinate inventory management at consignment locations by processing reports, reconciling inventory, problem resolution, repurchases, and possible product buybacks. Ensure accurate tracking of inbound and outbound inventory
Participate in establishing and adherence to Vendor Management Inventory (VMI) policies and procedures, including Sarbanes-Oxley and corporate requirements
Report and balance all inventory levels weekly while assuring timely and accurate invoicing
Audit invoicing and damage claims issues and take corrective action as necessary to resolve discrepancies.
Coordinate vendor payment processing
Support sales staff in maintaining appropriate inventory levels per the requirements of the customer
NWT TRUCK FLEET FOCUSED:
Coordinate the Truck Fleet daily activities from shipment origin to destination including customer delivery schedules
Assist in identifying, soliciting and securing potential new customers
Prioritize and process shipments based on customer requirements while optimizing fleet utilization
Coordinate screenings in accordance with DOT rules and regulations
Organize and facilitate Customer Service functions supporting Shippers, End Customers and Driver requirements
Ensure compliance with US DOT regulations
Communicate with production coordinators, LP central dispatch, sales teams, and end customers on a daily basis
Qualifications:
Skills, knowledge, abilities:
Knowledge rail, and truck transport shipping environment
Basic knowledge of logistics and transportation principles
Strong written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of basic accounting principals
Demonstrated knowledge of Inventory Management methods
Ability to manage multiple priorities
Basic project management and prioritization skills
Demonstrated organizational, negotiation, and customer service skills
Ability to operate a computer and supporting software, including AS400
Education:
Associates degree in Business or related field desirable
Experience:
2
years' previous logistics transportation experience
Load planning or dispatching, customer service, and driver support experience
Or any equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
