Summary: The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the performance and operating results of the maintenance departments serving the Williston site. The overall goal of this position is to apply preventative and reactive maintenance processes and continuous process improvement (CPI) techniques that result in high performance machinery and a high performance team focused on supporting the production environment. This position will develop and continuously improve our maintenance systems. The maintenance manager is accountable for the maintenance budget, staffing/training, parts inventory and other maintenance metrics. This position partners with production, engineering and multi-site (corporate) functions to improve the performance of the site and business overall.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : The position is responsible for the overall supervision of the site maintenance team, with direct reports including maintenance supervisors, parts clerks, training coordinators and technicians. This position reports to the plant engineering manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Clearly define and align department goals, communicate the goals to the team and hold yourself and your team accountable for achieving the goals
Responsible for the professional development of the maintenance team members,
Support site initiatives related to safety, quality, cost and delivery.
Integrate CPI and Lean manufacturing concepts into department operations (6S, RCCA, PDCA, visual management, standard work)
Measure, report and accountable for maintenance department performance.
Provide technical and operational support for the plant
Responsible for coordination, evaluation, and continuous improvement of the department and foster a positive culture where people want to do their best.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization''s principles, policies and applicable laws.
Accountable for communication, interviewing and hiring, training employees; planning, assigning and directing work, leveraging team and individual strengths, managing performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and solving problems to ensure high performance results.
OTHER NECESSARY FUNCTIONS:
Understands key operational details - from machinery to internal and external processes
Knowledgeable of infrastructure systems (nitrogen, electrical, steam, compressed air).
Manages and coordinates maintenance elements of production line installations and decommissioning events.
Coordinates maintenance aspects of new product launches and new or modified operational processes.
Develops and applies effective maintenance strategies e.g. Condition Based Maintenance (CBM), lubrication management, time based maintenance.
Follows all policies, procedures, ergonomic standards and safety requirements directed by GMCR and the plant.
Comply with applicable regulatory requirements including OSHA, SQF
Knowledgeable of emergency planning and response team operations
Performs other duties as requested by management.
B.S. in Technical area (Engineering or related field of study) with 7-10 years manufacturing experience or comparable experience, preferably in food, pharmaceutical or beverage products.
Previous department or team leadership experience required.
Working experience with order fulfillment, manufacturing or maintenance management, team development and project management is also required.
Experience working in a Manufacturing Maintenance environment
Demonstrated supportive leadership skills and good analytical skills
Experience with mechanical, electrical, and other mechanical systems
Ability to communicate with multiple stakeholder groups and manage projects
Ability to prioritize to meet business needs, view the larger picture, and systematically solve problems
Must be able to work across multiple shifts and multiple shift schemes.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, be on-call, and travel as necessary
Ability to uphold Safety standards, participates in Continuous Process Improvement on the job, and follows our Manufacturing best practices.
Ability to get along with others, be punctual, and follow instructions.
Ability to follow GMCR policies and procedures as well as our Operating principles.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Ability to lift 30 pounds on a regular basis and 50 pounds occasionally.
Ability to constantly lift, bend, stretch and stand during entire shift.
Predominately sedentary light office position with keyboarding/computer work required (30% - 100% of the workday).Production/Manufacturing
Organization: SCBU SharedEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
