Position Title: Pump Mechanic Helper
Reports To: Repair Center Manager
As a Pump Mechanic Helper you must be able to support the overall workload of the Repair Center and follow instructions as given by the Repair Center Manager or the Pump Mechanic. You shall follow and support the Company policies and protect the assets associated with the operation. Your objective should be to support the Company's ability to
meet the needs and expectations of the customers.
DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Pump Repair, Manufacturing and Production
Disassemble and clean components.
Perform some minor assembly with supervision.
Keep the shop area clean and organized.
Assist others as necessary.
Operate heavy machinery limited to grinding and lapping with supervision.
Operate fork lift.
Pack and ship components when required.
Drive company truck to deliver and pick up customer parts and pumps.
Works with supervision.
Must be available for overtime, call-ins, etc. as needed to meet customer requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Time management - Managing one's own time and ability to identify perceived barriers to our ability to meet the customer's timeline.
Communication skills - talking to others to convey information effectively.
Collaboration - team oriented approach to knowledge sharing.
Driving - ability to safety operate lift trucks as needed and safely drive a company vehicle to perform pickups and delivers to customers as needed, this will include supplies for the center as well.
Travel - ability to travel out of state which may require overnight stays.
Deductive Reasoning - The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce sensible answers.
Computer skills - Outlook, Excel, and Word are preferred but not required.
Manufacturing knowledge - Pump repair and machine shop operations is preferred but no required .
EDUCATION/
Experience:
High School Diploma or GED and working in centrifugal pump repair shop preferred but not required. Good driving record required.
