Position Summary
Duties performed are of a secretarial nature. This is the benchmark secretarial level and while it incorporates elements of other levels, it has a majority of effort associated with providing secretarial support for work unit. Responsibilities include drafting, monitoring and tracking of correspondence and other typed material. This level requires a degree of independence to respond to requests, troubleshoot, and resolve issues pertaining to assigned duties.
Required Qualifications
Education equivalent to the completion of high school
At least two years of secretarial experience of a qualifying nature or a combination of education and experience that equates to two years of qualifying work experience.
Experience with Microsoft Word or related word processing software.
Spreadsheet and/or database experience may be required
Demonstrated organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Demonstrated ability to accurately perform work assignments and construct documents
Demonstrated experience working with financial records may be required
Experience coordinating the work of students may be required.
Demonstrated positive interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and project a positive image
Ability to perform the essential functions and requires of the job.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of specific software and programs, mainframe/system skills may be desired by the hiring department (i.e. Excel, Access, SAP)
Duties & Responsibilities
Schedules tasks and support services associated with preparing and making arrangements for meetings or other related tasks for both internal and external contacts.
Reads and routes mail; types correspondence, memos and correspondence related to work functions; records and transcribes meeting minutes
Assists in the preparation of departmental publications and promotional materials; performs routine research or compiles statistics when required.
Maintains records by performing duties such as monitoring, and tracking expenditures and preparing statements for distribution regarding the status of records, lists or accounts services as a primary support staff person for work area, coordinating and supervisiong students;
Answers inquires and conducts problem solving for internal and external contacts on issues directly related to work unit.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
