Ascension Health Information Services (AHIS) is seeking a Network Architect who will be responsible for national network architecture and design. As Subject Matter Expert (SME) you will use your knowledge of LAN/WAN systems to help design and install internal and external networks and the tools used to manage them.
### QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Minimum of six years relevant network experience required
Experience in large enterprise network with high availability requirements
Experience within or across network vendor technologies with expert level knowledge in one or more network vendor technologies (e.g. Nortel/Avaya preferred, or Cisco)
Must have demonstrated technical leadership, a record of successful projects and satisfied clients
Ability to take on-call duties and travel 20%.
Preferred:
Bachelors Degree in computer/information sciences, mathematics, business/MIS , engineering, or related field from an accredited college desirable
Avaya Certification
5-6 years experience with Nortel/Avaya networks
Experience with one or more network configuration management platforms
Experience with one or more address management platforms
Expert level understanding of DNS, DHCP, Routing Protocols
Expert with packet capture tools and analysis
### RESPONSIBILITIES
The Network Architect will:
Define network hardware, High Availability/Fault Tolerance/Redundancy, Network Security, address management, software/firmware version management, patch maintenance, configuration management, and reporting standards.
Test and evaluate network systems to eliminate problems and make improvements.
Perform in depth network analysis and troubleshooting.
Will need to be able to function as a project manager and lead engineer for junior network associates.
Prioritize replacement or upgrade of existing non-standard hardware, firmware, and software, and tools.
Create and publish and maintain up to date and accurate network documentation and diagrams.
Calculate trends to forecast future capacity and bandwidth requirements with recommendations for future direction.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
