The Assistant Manager in manufacturing is responsible for forecasting results and performing monthly close responsibilities, in addition to leading Product Supply F&A initiatives to improve processes and financial controls. A broadening assignment with functional support to the PSO organization, will work closely with Product Supply Operations (PSO), the manufacturing plants, and Category business partners to lead the execution of close and forecast tasks specific to Manufacturing costs. This position develops analytical, decision-making, and communication skills as well as fosters deep understanding of the Make component of the Clorox supply chain.
Ongoing/General Responsibilities 80%
Lead and own Manufacturing costs for the Close, Forecast and Gap Management processes for the Cleaning and PPD SBU's, including operating standards development.
Ensure the monthly accounting close and quarterly forecast complies with company accounting policies and procedures, Internal Controls Compliance testing, and GAAP. If necessary, recommend solutions to identified gaps from ICC testing.
Ensure strong internal controls are maintained at the manufacturing facilities.
Successfully lead various Finance initiatives and provide ad hoc financial support to the categories and manufacturing function
Consistently demonstrate active financial leadership by partnering with cross functional peers and COE's/category cost to drive superior business results through inventory and cost management
Manage, develop and inspire product costing and MCOE staff to achieve individual and team performance goals.
Be self-sufficient through successful planning and prioritizing that will enable minimal supervision.
Special Projects of Strategic Responsibilities 15%
Identify issue/opportunities to improve business process, system utilization and reporting
Provide adhoc cost analysis
Participate in company-wide initiatives to improve Finance customer service and performance
People Management & Development 5%
Indirectly provide guidance to two staff analysts in regards to specific activities, including, but not limited to product costing, Other Manufacturing, and overall Mfg cost.
Budgets & Span of Control 0%

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Educational/Experiential Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting; MBA or CPA a plus
Minimum of 1-3 years of finance and accounting experience
Preferred Consumer Packaged Goods or Manufacturing industry experience
Required Skills and Abilities:
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to prioritize
Ability to effectively communicate and influence at all levels
Solid interpersonal skills
Extensive system and reporting knowledge, SAP R/3 knowledge a plus
