About the Position: This position is with the USAG-HI, Directorate of Public Works, Planning Division, Master Planning Branch, Schofield Barracks, HI. It is located on Wheeler Army Airfield, Hawaii. Position requires some field work to collect data points for layers on our CADD/GIS informationsystem. Periodic visits will also be required to the Island of Hawaii to assistand coordinate mapping requirements with personnel at Pohakuloa Training Area.
Eligible for 12.25% Cost of Living Allowance Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement.

This is a Career Program (CP) 18 position.
Serve as the Division coordinator, Geographical Information System (GIS) Engineer, and technical expert in design applications for the Geographical Information Management/Automated Mapping and Facility Management (GIS/AM/FM) system. Primary responsibilities will be focused on developing GIS data layers to assist the Master Planning and Real Estate Branches of Planning Division. Manage the integration of GIS/AM/FM into other engineering applications for geotechnical engineering, subsurface data collection, surface data collection, analysis, and evaluation. Plan and provide direct technical support to other Division/ Branches of DPW, Architect-Engineer (AE) firms, and other organizations on post to ensure a timely and accurate inclusion of data layers into designs, design submittals, and as-built drawings during and after construction completion.

Engineering Series GS-0801:
Education: Bachelors or higher degree in professional engineering. To be acceptable, the curriculum must: (1) be in a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials(stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d)thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g)any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. -OR-
Combination: College-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying professional engineering, and (2) a good understanding of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering. The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by one of the following:
> > 1. Professional registration -- Current registration as a professional engineer by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.
2. Written Test -- Evidence of having successfully passed the Engineer-in-Training (EIT) examination, or the

Experience: One full-time year (12-months) of specialized work experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service assist in managing theintegration of Geographical Information Management/AutomatedMapping and Facility Management (GIS/AM/FM)to other engineering applications for geotechnical engineering, subsurface datacollection, surface data collection, analysis, and evaluation. Provide assistance and support to ensure a timely and accurate inclusion of data layersinto designs, design submittals, and as-built drawings during and afterconstruction completion .This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
