The Registered Nurse in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit/ Pain Clinic takes direction from the PACU Charge Nurse, PACU Supervisor, and Director of Outpatient Surgery. Using independent judgment and initiative, is responsible for providing care for patients of all age groups from neonates through geriatric, based on the nursing process. This position is responsible for direct and indirect total nursing care of patients during the perioperative phase, and requires knowledge of the nursing process and implementation of clinical nursing skills pertinent to the perioperative patient.
Education:
Must have the required education necessary to be a Registered Nurse.
Certifications / Licenses:
Must have current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
Must maintain current BLS certification.
Must maintain current ACLS certification.
Must maintain current PALS certification.
