The Inventory Specialist ensures that all products are available for order fulfillment and compliant with Green BEAN Delivery quality standards. In order to prepare products for daily production needs, s/he oversees receiving, storing, rotation, preparation, quality control, and staging of all products. S/he works to maintain accurate inventory counts as well as moderate spoilage and waste, notifying Procurement of all product issues and order fulfillment needs. The Inventory Specialist provides training, guidance, and supervision as needed for Production Workers.

Essential Functions
Receive orders, ensuring product type, size, quantity, dating, labeling, price and quality meet GBD standards and match purchase orders
Inspect the quality of produce at various intervals to ensure quality appearance, taste, texture, etc.
Submit all invoices, credit documents, receiving logs, etc. to Procurement
Store inventory in an organized manner, following all food safety, organic handling, and rotational standards
Prepare products for order fulfillment by pulling product and staging as needed for production
Maintain accurate inventory, adjusting as needed for shrink and spoilage
Track and report all received products, shorts, mis-picks as directed by Senior Buyers
Alert Senior Buyers when products are not received as expected, including case counts, quality, shelf life, labeling, packaging, etc.
Manage an efficient and effective produce prep crew, meeting production deadlines, weights and measures stipulations, and quality controls
Conduct a daily, weekly, and monthly physical inventory, adjusting for cull and spoilage
Report product quality issues and substitutions as directed by the Senior Buyers
Other Functions
Oversee the collection and distribution of products to sister GBD warehouses
Establish and maintain cooperative and professional relationships with vendors
Prepare and account for products used for marketing, donation, samples, or other non-sales
Assist in warehouse duties as needed by the Warehouse Manager
Complete tasks and projects as outlined by the Senior Buyers

Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
Bachelors' Degree Preferred

years' experience related to inventory management and quality controls
1
years' experience in leadership and/or management
Language Skills
Strong verbal and written communication, including email composition, interaction with vendors, and employee training and development
Able to compile information and create reports, e.g. performance reporting or inventory adjustments
Reasoning Ability
Strong analytical skills, both qualitative and quantitative
Good elaboration, problem solving and composing skills
Mathematical Skills
Able to perform basic and statistical mathematical calculations
Able to utilize spreadsheets for tracking and report calculations
Technical/Computer Skills
Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to operate office equipment including copiers, scanners, and phones

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
