The Microsoft Systems Engineer (MSE) supports customers with design and implementation projects for server, desktop and Cloud, from information gathering, design, implementation, support and troubleshooting. The successful applicant will be expected to demonstrate successful design, implementation and support of complex Microsoft datacenter environments along with the associated technologies required for a successful solution. This individual will join a team of highly skilled individuals providing technical expertise during pre-sales and post-sales engagements. This individual will participate in the design of IT infrastructure solutions and be a primary resource for the implementation and support of these solutions for client's customer base. This individual should possess specific Microsoft expertise and broad systems, virtualization, and storage experience, including the delivery of these services to external customers. The ideal candidate will possess 7
years experience of support to customers with a focus on implementing complex IT solutions. A successful MSE will become a valuable and contributing part of Kelser culture.
Requirements:
Duties and Responsibilities
Promote Kelser products and services.
Support Kelser customers on as-needed basis with these technologies:
Active Directory:
Authentication mechanism (Kerberos, NTLM).
Different roles (global catalog, Read-Only DC, PDCe, etc).
Sites and Services: Design and manage intersite topology (replication, local DCs, etc).
Ability to integrate dissimilar Active Directory environments (i.e. domain consolidation).
Understanding of LDAP including schema, queires and 3rd party application integration.
Ability to backup and restore Active Directory (authoritative restores), ability to backup and recover objects from AD.
Ability to develop and implement ADFS and Directory Synch.
Microsoft Cluster Services (MSCS / Failover Cluster):
Understanding of best practices for design and support.
Ability to create a cluster and decommission a cluster.
Cluster maintenance.
Cluster network tasks.
Cluster disk tasks.
Cluster migration (new OS, new data drives).
Understanding of disk signatures, quorum drives, etc.
Microsoft Exchange:
Support Exchange 2003+.
Migrate from older versions of Exchange to Exchange 2010 and 2013.
Migrate from Exchange (on-prem) to Hosted Exchance (Office 365).
Simple environments to complex environments.
DAG configuration (networking, setup, related components).
Exchange disaster recovery and availability.
General Microsoft OS:
File / print best practices (shares, NTFS permissions, etc).
Data migration (from NAS to Windows, Windows to Windows, NAS to Windows, etc).
Security best practices.
WMI / remote administration and monitoring.
Patching (WSUS).
Software deployment / distribution.
DFS and DFS-R (design, support, troubleshooting).
Disk subsystem (MPIO, MBT/GPT, file system expansion/reduction), fibre channel and iSCSI configuration.
Backup / Restore (troubleshoot issues including VSS).
Shadow Copy configuration and troubleshooting.
DNS, DHCP, etc. (migrations too) - infrastructure-related Microsoft Network services.
Remote Desktop (RDS) configuration and maintainence. Present technical white board demonstrations to clients.
Create solution/design to fulfill customer requirements.
Presales engineering support and solution architecture design.
Perform needs analysis, information gathering on client expectations and technical baselines for writing or technical review of Statements of Work.
Cloud Migration.
Attend and comprehend training as required.
Maintain current Microsoft certification .
Attain other certifications as required.
Assist Project Managers in writing the scope of work and technical assumptions of the Statements of Work.
Creation of white paper IP documents.
Stay up to date on emerging technologies and products, including attaining certifications and participation in industry events as appropriate.
Availability on a scheduled basis for off-hours and/or on-call assignments.
Provide regular update/reports to the both the project and account teams.
Perform duties compatible with the above as directed by appropriate staff.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Skills/
Qualifications:
7
years experience with Windows Server OS.
7
years experience with Exchange and Active Directory from simple to complex environments.
Ability to write policies and procedures and technical documents.
Experience with Hyper-V, MS SQL administration, SCCM and SC Endpoint Protection.
Experience with varied size and complexity environments either as a consulting engineer or diverse career experience.
Knowledge of current best practice Microsoft design methodology.
Success driven.
Desire to work in a team environment.
Current MCSE : Server Infrastructure.
Superior troubleshooting, problem solving and analytical skills.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
