The Main Emergency Department is a 29 bed unit caring for patients of all ages across the continuum of care. The team in the Emergency Department provided care to 88,000 patients from our community in 2013. A day in the life of an Emergency Department Registered Nurse at Meridian includes:
Delivery of nursing practices according to the evidence-based research, nursing policies, and standards of care to provide and ensure safe and excellent delivery of individualized patient centered care with a diverse patient population.
Ongoing communication with patients, nursing colleagues and other members of the health care team regarding patient's status, rendered care and treatment plans.
Responsible for optimal patient/guest satisfaction and care experience according to Meridian Health standards.
Medication administration utilizing the latest clinical documentation technology designed to ensure the safest delivery of medications to our patients.
Patient and family centered care aimed at optimizing health, wellness and disease management.
Interdisciplinary collaboration in management of our patient's plan of care and goals from admission to discharge to ensure safe transitioning and continuum of care.
Minimum Education:
Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing, BSN preferred

Experience:
1 year ED RN experience required.

1-3 years Emergency Nursing experience
Required Licenses/Certifications:
(BLS) Basic Life Support
(ACLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support
(PALS) Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred.
Required Skills:
IV Certification with adult and pediatric experience
Must have computer documentation/entry experience
Excellent proven interpersonal skills
Demonstrates multi-tasking and prioritization skills
