POSITION
Summary: The registered professional nurse, under the direction of the clinical nurse manager, is responsible for the nursing care of adult medical, surgical, and trauma patients. The RN utilized physiological, psychosocial, and spiritual knowledge to care for patients. The RN utilizes a body of nursing knowledge while giving direct and indirect patient care. The RN will be knowledgeable and skillful in caring for the general medical/surgical population. He/she functions as an integral part of a multidisciplinary team to meet the needs of the medical/surgical patient. MINIMUM EDUCATION: BSN or actively enrolled in a BSN program with completion within 5 years of start with OSF. Must show proof of enrollment or acceptance letter from College for the current/next semester. Validating documents must be shown at time of interview. PREFERRED EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing Minimum
Experience: 1 year of RN experience or equivalent LPN experience or completion of an RN Residency program. PREFERRED
Experience: 12 months of medical/surgical nursing or completion of a residency program. Should possess the ability to understand and react effectively to adult populations. REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION: See Registered Professional Nurse Registration/Licensure Specifications. Current Illinois RN license. Current American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS CPR or approved equivalent (must include infant through adult, one and two-man rescuer, use of AED, and choking with hands-on CPR skills return demonstration, and must be pre-approved by Org Dev/Human Resources) completed prior to employment.
