Description

We continue to succeed due to the passion, focus, and expertise of our people, and now need an enthusiastic Project Manager to join our regional Toll system projects team in Ashburn, VA.
The Project Manager is responsible for supporting Proposal development, Project Management, Installation, Bill of Material development, Testing and supervision of multiple projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic region Toll and other revenue collection and Traffic Management systems and accounts. The primary work location will be Ashburn, VA. Candidates must be able to manage sub-contractors and installation activities for various Electronic Toll system projects. Will have direct responsibility for projects up to $750,000, and will act as Assistant Project Manager on larger projects. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Manages project teams - coordinates activities, tracks performance, provides feedback, & motivates staff.
Identifies project staffing needs and assists in the formation of effective project teams.
Prepares, implements, & monitors project schedule and cost estimates.
Works closely with the Contracts department to manage and administer relevant subcontract agreements.
Assists with as well as may be asked to lead a proposal response to an RFP
Manages project execution so that:
Project deliverables are of a high quality and meet the expectations of the stakeholders.
Projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in the most efficient manner possible.
Project deliverables are deployed and turned over to the customer or internal Transcore support organization in a smooth and efficient manner.
TransCore policies, standards and best practices are adhered to.
Reports project status to management (e.g., EAC, IPR, etc.)
Assists with completing along with managing the project documentation requirements.
Prepares project plans that guide project execution to a successful conclusion.
Proactively detects and evaluates issues/risks.
Communicates project information including approach, progress, forecasts, and issues to all stakeholders.
Provides guidance to other project mangers on best practices and past lesson learned
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and
Experience:
A Bachelors degree in a technical and/or business discipline
A Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
Proven prior project management experience required
Experience with public sector agencies in the northeastern United States a plus
