Principal Embedded Firmware Architect (Intelligent Transportation Systems)

Our client, a major manufacturer of ITS solutions (Intelligent Transportation Systems), is currently seeking a Principal Embedded Firmware Architect. This position is responsible for providing vision and leadership in the firmware development and architecture of future products and features. Experience with ITS solutions, traffic modeling/engineering and telematics is strongly desired.
Duties and Responsibilities
Lead in the design and implementation of robust, maintainable architecture to be used on embedded and desktop operating systems
Maintain an architecture that is measured by the completeness of self-diagnostics and overhead required to implement new software on top of the platform
Perform and document architectural reviews of legacy software including reference templates and models for prototypes and training material
Practice and promote an awareness of state-of-the-art technology and firmware application best practices
Requirements and Experience
Master Degree in Electronics Engineering & Computer Science
Minimum 8 years of working experience on embedded firmware development and implementation utilizing C & C++
Employment Visa Status: US Citizen/Green Card Candidate, relocation stipend available for qualified candidates
Experience with intelligent transportation solutions, traffic modeling/engineering and telematics is strongly desired.
Great understanding of embedded real time OS and simulating environments on RT desktops
Expertise defining product architecture and the partitioning of hardware and firmware for real-time hardware products in with the hardware engineering team
Ability to analyze hardware/firmware architectural tradeoffs with heavy I/O applications
Experience developing application middleware frameworks
Tools
Experience: debuggers, scripting, Git, cross compilers - solid understanding of compilers
