Provide administrative and financial services support for the Center for Renewable Energy and
Aerodynamic Testing and for the Virginia Tech Stability Wind Tunnel. Serve as the front-office contact for the Center and the Wind Tunnel. Provides clerical support for Aerospace and Ocean Engineering faculty located in McBryde Hall.
Holder of the position will; provide grant administration for externally and internally funded grants including assistance in the preparation and submission of proposals (handling budget estimates and forms) and in the financial management of projects from initiation through closeout; serve as liaison
between faculty and the Office of Sponsored Programs; manage wind tunnel billing and interaction with the University Controller's Office; provide the support needed for the day to day operation of the center.
Tasks may include, but are not limited to, payroll administration, monitoring and/or reconciling fiscal actions, maintaining records, analyzing data, preparing financial reports, developing budget forecasts; and interpreting and disseminating programmatic information regarding the terms of the grants to a diverse clientele, web site creation and administration, ordering materials and supplies to support research projects; processing travel forms and travel reimbursement vouchers for students and faculty; working with the director to meet the administrative requirements of the center.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
