With minimal supervision and much decision-making:
In a supervisory capacity, plan, develop, coordinate, and direct large and important engineering projects or a number of small projects with many complex features with a small staff of engineers and technicians.
Carry out complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or refined equipment, materials, processes, products, and/or scientific methods.
Provide leadership in the firm, and set an example consistent with exemplary ethical standards, mentor technical skills and adherence to quality standards.
Participate in selecting project team, assign duties, answer questions, monitor progress and check accuracy of completed work for team.
Estimate workforce needs and schedules, and assign work to meet completion date.
Ensure commitments to clients are met in budget, timeliness and accuracy to maintain close relationship with client throughout development of project and beyond.
Assist Activity Center/Branch Manager in business development, recruiting, and hiring.
Production of accurate and timely invoices with the ability to collect fees from clients in a timely manner.
Be able to travel extensively (required), both domestically and internationally.
Meet utilization as determined by senior management.
Support and encourage continuous improvement of the company's processes, including the safety program and quality management system.
Observe and follow all company safety rules and procedures.
Communicate tactfully and effectively, verbally and in writing.
Maintain effective work relations with those encountered in the course of employment.
Execute work duties in an organized and efficient manner.
Maintain organized and clean work area.
Come to work regularly and on time.
Work well while under supervision.
Able to meet deadlines.
Able to work while under stress.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Possess current driver's license with acceptable motor vehicle record.
Ability to competently and professionally present project materials in client meetings, including identifying and mitigating client concerns.
Excellent written communication skills including comprehensive understanding of writing for engineering documents and related legal terminology.
Effective client relationship management with a dedicated client base and the proven ability to produce annual revenue.
Superior technical knowledge of engineering discipline with commitment to continual improvement.
Stay abreast of current professional practices, periodicals, and technological advancements in engineering.
Maintain meaningful involvement in professional organizations.
Must have completed the Fugro Contracts training course offered by FCL General Counsel.
Advanced knowledge of technology including standard office and engineering software and equipment.
Valid passport.
Knowledge & Skills
Master's degree from accredited college or university in Civil Engineering, Geology or equivalent required.
Licensed Professional Engineer required.
10 years relevant, post-graduate experience preferred.
Familiar with modern office methods, practices, procedures and equipment, as well as filing systems and business letter writing and competent in correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and arithmetic.
Physical Qualifications
Perform moderate work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
Daily activities include both field and office environments.
Some travel required including possible long-term out-of-town assignments.
Possible international travel/assignments may be required.
