eCommerce Senior Product Manager is responsible for a suite of eCommerce capabilities and web experiences which drive online business results. The Vertical Product Manager will be the eCommerce single point of contact supporting one or more Sears Holdings business units, with responsibility for online strategy, planning, roadmap development, and execution. This is a critical leadership role within the Online Business Unit, with high- level visibility and exposure across Sears Holdings.
Responsibilities
o Responsibility for a suite of mobile eCommerce capabilities (products) which support the overall web experience, with direct accountability for the success of the product suite.
o Management of each individual product lifecycle, from understanding a concept or the current state, assessing gaps, defining key capabilities, working across the organization to develop requirements, working with IT to understand tradeoffs, through product launch and the ongoing management of the product post launch.
o Use market research, customer surveys, and web analytic data to understand customer and business needs, discovering latent gaps, identifying new opportunities to ultimately define a product roadmap.
o Serves as expert on trendsetting practices in e-commerce and retail for product suite to continue to develop new opportunities, including analysis and documentation of competitor best practices.
o Develop cogent and realistic business case scenarios for new product capabilities - to rationalize resource investments.
o Transform complex concepts into executable plans and customer experiences
o Manage product innovation through cross-functional teams focusing on new product capabilities and services.
o Anticipate industry and product trends, capability prioritization and tradeoffs, balancing business needs versus technical constraints.
o Drive implementation of new vendor / product deployments
o Manage key vendor / product relationships - including contract negotiation in partnership with Procurement.
o Build strong relationships across the Customer Direct business functions, with the IT organization, and vendor community
o Understand complex process and system interdependencies in order to ensure successful product execution
o Be an internal subject matter expert for all mobile technologies and best practices, including SMS, WAP, and SmartPhone applications and developments.
Experience/Education Requirements
o Project Management / Program Management
o Merchandising
o Marketing
o Strategic Planning
o Familiarity with Web Based / eCommerce Technologies
o 3-5 years mobile application or technology experience
o 4 year Bachelor's Degree / MBA preferred
