Medical Coding Clerk (#12251)
Looking to hire 2 full time medical coding clerks immediately.
Must be available and flexible to work Monday through Friday during this time 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM and must be able to work occasional weekends and overtime to meet operational needs.
Overview:
Assigns or Verifies ICD-9 codes provided by physicians on all incoming documents to be entered into the computer system in accordance to CMS guidelines, departmental procedures and standards.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Courses in Medical terminology and ICD-9 Coding required
Two years? experience in ICD-9 coding preferred
CPC or CCS certification required
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedure, or governmental regulations. Able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of internal and external customers
Basic computer skills, including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc. (preferably Windows, Word and Excel)
Typing speed of 40 wpm
Ability to work effectively, both independently and with a team
Ability to handle high volumes of work and multi-task assignments
Ability to retain information and have good recall ability
Excellent customer service skills
Able to operate general office equipment, such as copiers, facsimile machines, calculator, etc.
