Duties and
Responsibilities:
The Technical Instructor is a subject matter expert in range operations, range modernization, Integrate Training Area Management (ITAM), Geospatial Information Systems(GIS) or other Training Support Systems related fields such as Combat Training Center (CTC), Battle Command Training Capability (BCTC), Soldier Training Support Program (STSP), and Training Development Support who is responsible for and managing the planning, developing, implementing and evaluating customized training programs that will support the Army unit's overall training objective to create, maintain, and sustain ranges and training lands which will have a significant impact on many lives because of the relevant and realistic exercises Soldiers perform before deployment to a combat zone. Assess training needs of staff by talking with managers and supervisors and/or conducting surveys. Performs needs assessments of the types of training needed and recommend the best means of obtaining the training by developing training content and support materials for training to be developed in-house. Assisting Army units as they plan their training scenarios. Conduct research and provide studies, analysis, documentation and/or recommendations, in writing, regarding the development, integration, and/or interoperability of training systems. Research technological advances and make recommendations for acquisition of new equipment to improve processes, production, and training products anticipating employee and customer needs. Exercise discretion and judgment to prepare simulated training, live training, training videotapes and/or films regarding the use of the use of Improvised Explosive Devices-Defeat (IED-D) training aids, devices and simulators and maintains library of video and film training aids. Schedules training sessions within individual training programs ensuring facility setup, audiovisual setup and employee notification. Coordinate with unit commanders and leaders, experience in scenario development and employment of Training Aids, Devices, Simulators and Simulations (TADSS) in a live training environment. Instruct unit personnel (soldier, leader, crew) on the use of Improvised Explosive Devices-Defeat (IED-D) training aids, devices and simulators. Emplace and actuate training aids, devices, simulations and sustainment support to the Army's live training on the IED-Defeat (IEDD) home station training lane. Assisting the installation with the layout, operations and maintenance, and reset of the training lanes that support the IED-D live training. Assess employee performance during training exercises and provide in-depth assessments, oral and written, of unit performance and present feedback to the unit using the After Action Review process at the completion of the exercise. Also evaluate the customized training program to ensure it is meeting the Army's objectives. Consolidate reviews complete all deliverables and submit Monthly Status Reports. Develope a means of measuring the effectiveness of divisional training programs through testing and monitor training costs to ensure budget is not exceeded, and prepare budget reports to justify expenditures. Use integrated software programs to design and produce surveys and special reports, course documentation, training publications, and reference material as requested by customer or Company. Attend necessary meetings and conferences to maintain awareness of current theater issues, IEDD capabilities, and new IEDD devices and training aids. Solely responsible for the day to day operations, maintenance and sustainment of the site. Interacts daily with unit leaders and trainers developing scenarios, preparing the facility, emplacing IED simulations and devices, executing training, providing training feedback and resetting the facility for continued training iterations. Submits request for procurement actions of material and equipment.

Undergraduate degree from accredited college or university in a field which provides the proposed incumbent with the overall knowledge to perform the tasks identified in the Government's Task Order or demonstrated 6 plus years of relevant experience with a High School diploma or equivalant (academic, work, or combination of both) as an action officer or supervising work in range operations, range modernization, ITAM, GIS or other Training Support Systems related fields such as CTC, BCTC, STSP, and Training Development Support. Experience in employing Training Aids, Devices, Simulators and Simulations (TADSS) in live training. More than 6 years prior military experience with demonstrated leadership and management capabilities. Prefer considerable background and experience in counter-IED-Defeat tactics, techniques and procedures. A working knowledge of counterinsurgency operations and doctrine Thorough knowledge in range operations, maintenance capabilities and unit training requirements. Experience with IED-D training aids, devices, simulators and simulations. Understand employment techniques, functional usage and safety aspects of pyro-techniques associated with the devices. Deployment in support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM or IRAQI FREEDOM.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. This position might also call for repeated bending/climbing/standing in inclement weather conditions.
