Signal Integrity Engineer Engineering at Geebo

Signal Integrity Engineer

Company Name:
Intel
## Description
This job requisition is for a signal integrity position within PCCG. The ideal candidate will be a key technical contributor for the development and implementation of the electrical signaling interfaces found within next generation of notebook and tablet form factors. In this position, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the design and verification of I/O and memory signaling interfaces on client platforms.
Additional responsibilities may include:
Performing technology development, design, analysis and validation of off-silicon platform interconnects, with a focus on memory interfaces such as DDR or on high-speed differential interfaces such as USB or PCI Express.
Contributing to methodology development and analysis for these and other busses.
Defining and developing electrical modeling capabilities and analysis techniques.
Defining and developing empirical lab measurement methods and analysis techniques for busses
Defining and evaluating validation of the design for product launch (Go or No-Go decision).
Leveraging empirical data to gain insight into bus behavior, and leveraging that understanding to impact future technology and product development
Working as part of a diverse and dynamic team to define I/O buffer requirements, packaging implementations, printed circuit board (PCB) designs, and specification requirements that will ensure an electrically robust design. This position will need to help ensure that PCCG designs meet the platform performance and cost targets as well as customer expectations.
## Qualifications
Qualified candidates should possess, at minimum, a MSEE or equivalent degrees. A solid understanding of electromagnetic theory, IO design, signal integrity, statistical analysis, and both differential and single ended interface technology is essential in this position. While this is not a circuit design position, a working knowledge of I/O circuit design is helpful.
Additional qualifications ideally include:
Knowledge of transmission-line effects, crosstalk, frequency domain analysis, termination techniques, signal return paths, design of experiment and statistical analysis
Significant experience in the electrical analysis and design of high-speed buses (differential and single ended) as well as familiarity with simulation, modeling, and analysis tools (for example, HSPICE , SPEED , HFSS , LynxSpice, ADS /MDS , ANSOFT , JMP, Matlab, and others)
Familiarity with lab measurement equipment: Oscilloscopes, TDR, Vector Network Analyzer (VNA), etc.
Self-motivation; candidate should exhibit good written and verbal communication skills, and have the ability to work well in a team environment.
Familiarity with Printed Circuit Board (PCB) layouts and fabrication. Knowledge of electrical package design techniques is also beneficial.
