Job Description:

The selected candidate will work with a team to prototype, manage, and deploy novel and existing software and solutions addressing cyber threats. The candidate will work with researchers to convert algorithms for statistical models into software prototype analytics, deploy and integrate these analytics onto a specified analytic platform, and test and evaluate their efficacy on real data. The candidate will be the co-lead for this integration and will help provide ongoing maintenance.

We seek an intelligent, creative person with demonstrated problem solving skills that can develop and integrate scalable software components. The ideal candidate must have strong software development and systems engineering skills. While the candidate will not be asked to develop brand new algorithms, s/he should be able to understand, discuss, and convert well-specified algorithms to a software prototype. Strong written and verbal communication skills are important to present and justify results.

Requirements:
MS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with 2 or more years of experience. In lieu of an MS, a BS with 5 or more years of experience in software engineering will be considered. Must be able to design, implement, test, and debug application level software and configurations. Must be able to propose and explore new techniques and technologies and be able to design, develop, test, and validate these new capabilities. Must possess security clearance at the Top Secret / SCI level with a full-scope polygraph, preferably held by the NSA.

Desired Skills:
Software design/development experience with Java, C/C++, Python, and/or Perl is required. Knowledge of cloud computing architecture, specifically Accumulo and Hadoop/MapReduce, is strongly desired. Experience with streaming data environments is a plus. Experience with any combination of the following is desired: statistical and Bayesian models, graph theory, network protocols, computer security, databases, visualization, and high-performance computing.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
