Hitachi Data Systems has multiple positions available for experienced software engineers. In this position you will be part of a new development team focusing on data management and data protection tools. To be successful in this role, you will need to be familiar with and can demonstrate operational facility with formal methods of software development including methods of collaboration including but not limited to Agile software development, source code control, build systems, bug tracking systems, use of automated test methods and systems and related activities.
Responsibilities:
Routinely exercising independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and criteria for achieving objectives
Server as a functional manager within area of expertise (but not manage other employees)
Be expected to participate in cross-business, multi-function teams
Provide mentoring and guidance to junior and intermediate level software developers
Independently determines methods and procedures on new or special assignments.
Required
Qualifications:
1. Typically at least an undergraduate technical or science degree, though this may be waived in extraordinary circumstances; 10-14 years hands-on software product experience.
2. Career must be in software product development and be a 100% hands-on software developer
3. Experience in developing management software for network or storage systems/appliances.
4. C+
and Java Developer with 7-9 years experience in object oriented software development.
Scripting experience with Python or Perl is required.
5. Java experience must include Reflection, Annotations, Threads and JNI, JDO, MySQL, Java 1.6 or later
6. Experience building and integrating software applications and drivers for Windows and unix platforms.
7. Strong English language communication skills (written and spoken) are required.
Preferred:
1. Multi-platform software development experience.
2. Expertise in developing software for data management applications like Replication, Backup, Archiving, et
