Collects and analyzes Human Resources'' data. Reviews applications, screens and refers qualified applicants to appropriate hiring manager/supervisor. Coordinates Human Resources'' activities with program staff to ensure compliance with all applicable policies, laws, regulations, plan requirements, federal and state courts, and Cherokee Nation Human Resources Policies and Procedures. Prepares job bulletins; determines and places advertisements in appropriate media and reviews and evaluates applications. Recruits, researches, screens and refers job candidates for job openings.
Provides information and interpretation regarding Cherokee Nation Human Resources Policies and Procedures. Assists with inservice training. Participates in special projects, as assigned. Coordinates Human Resources'' activities with program staff to ensure compliance with all applicable policies, laws, regulations, plan requirements, and Cherokee Nation Human Resources Policies and Procedures. Prepares job bulletins and recruitment information; determines and places advertisements in appropriate media and reviews and evaluates applications. Schedules and ensures that all necessary pre-employment examinations have been completed in accordance with policy. Takes fingerprints of employees. Confers with departmental supervisors to identify personnel needs, job specifications, job duties, qualifications and skills. Develops recruitment programs to attract applicants to fill specific job openings. Develops and maintains network of contacts to help identify qualified candidates. Initiates contact with potentially qualified candidates for specific job openings. Reviews applications, screens and refers qualified applicants to appropriate hiring manager/supervisor. Develops brochures about the organization and its opportunities. Coordinates participation in, sets up display and works at job fairs. Develops and maintains contact with schools, alumni groups and other public and private organizations to find and attract applicants. Contacts colleges to arrange on-campus interviews. Makes public presentations at schools, organizations and job fairs regarding the organization and its opportunities. Works with external recruiters and employment agencies to identify and recruit candidates. Utilizes Internet online recruiting sources to identify and recruit candidates. Provides information on company facilities and job opportunities to potential applicants. Performs reference and background checks on applicants.
Other duties may be assigned.

No supervisory responsibility.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT
Bachelor''s degree from 4-year college or university in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Public Administration or other business related field; or six years related experience; or equivalent combination of education or experience.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
Two (2) additional years of related experience is required. Prefer Human Resources experience.
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Human Resource systems; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid driver''s license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating. Certificate in Human Resources preferred.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of principles and practices of employment administration. Effective oral and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to organize and prioritize work. Ability to multi-task.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
