Summary
Provides support for a broad range of communications tactics targeting co-op benefits administrators and employees to:
increase awareness of, and participation in, NRECA retirement plans along with providing education on savings strategies, and
increase use and awareness of group benefits programs and education relating to healthy living and wellness opportunities
Produces deliverables associated with larger campaign work being done on the Employee Benefits Communications team, proposed communications strategies relating to digital communication channels and assists with logistical/administrative functions as needed for events supported by the team as well as aiding in campaign promotion and close out.
Purpose and Mission
Works collaboratively with EBC team members, internal business partners and vendors to execute communication tactics, following team processes and review procedures.
Writes and further develops content for a wide range of deliverables and media platforms that may include print communications, electronic newsletters, web, video, presentations and social media.
Translates sometimes-complex subject matter (investment-related topics or regulatory updates) into consumer-level communications and adapt core content across different audiences and media channels.
Proposes communications strategies to team members based on knowledge of audience and business needs, as well as industry best practices and current innovation taking place in the communications of benefits fields.
Provides creative and production support for conference preparation and mailings.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor''s degree and professional experience in any of the following areas: communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, emerging media, video production/editing and design
Minimum of two years of professional communications experience; familiarity with group or retirement benefits programs a plus
Demonstrated strong writing skills (print and digital publications, email and web content), including the ability to translate complex information to approachable language. Ability to gauge and alter tone in writing based on audience and medium used.
Strong attention to detail and ability to proof written work and design products
Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint); knowledge of SharePoint
Ability to leverage online content management and social media outlets as additional mediums for campaign messages to core audiences.
Familiarity with design and print processes required. Graphic, web or digital design background highly preferred. Video editing/post-production experience desired.
Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience working in a team environment, managing multiple deadlines and multiple internal business partner requests.
Employee should demonstrate enthusiastic/positive attitude and professional demeanor through business partner interactions. Proven ability to independently prioritize tasks and work in an collaborative manner.
