POSITION
Summary: Responsible for planning and facilitating support and discussion groups for patients of the Surgical Weight Loss Institute at Castle Medical Center. These groups may also include family and/or other support persons for the patient in the program. The support group facilitator serves as a liaison between the group attendees and the Surgical Weight Loss Institute staff. The facilitator creates a supportive environment for participants.
MINIMUM EDUCATION: High School Diploma (Bachelors Degree or Allied Health Professional preferred)
MINIMUM FIELD-OF-EXPERTISE: Allied Health Professional or Surgical Weight Loss PatientMust demonstrate good interpersonal skills and good communication skills. Demonstrate conflict-resolution skills and the ability to create and maintain a non-threatening environment.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION: Attend initial facilitator training seminar before group start-up as well as the annual support group training competencies.
PREFERRED
Experience: Experience providing patient education or facilitation of small groups, meetings or support groups.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
