POSITION
Summary: Performs essential nutritional services duties with nutritional care and food service to all patients and other NS customers that may include responsibility for the daily preparation of salads, sandwiches, fruits, assorted cold dishes, beverages, and special functions, dish washing duties, etc.
MINIMUM EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent.
MINIMUM FIELD-OF-EXPERTISE : Working knowledge of basic food preparation techniques, food and staff safety, and general nutrition. Demonstrated competency in basic knowledge of therapeutic diets. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and established procedures. Computer proficiency for mandatory training and department specific computer programs. Diet office: Ability to read and write English to fill menu orders. Ability to read and follow recipes, knows basic food preparation techniques. Ability to perform simple calculations and adjust standardized recipes. Basic knowledge of therapeutic diets.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION: Not applicable.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE : At least 1 year prior work experience in hospital or restaurant food services.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
