Develops, organizes, and executes the defined patient and family plan of care to achieve exemplary service and quality patient outcomes. Actively works to ensure an environment that is both safe and secure for patients, families, and staff. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with surgery center policies. Monitors assigned patients'' conditions and responses to medication, treatments, procedures and therapies utilizing the nursing process to ensure safe and effective care is provided. Takes appropriate action in cases of adverse reactions, side effects or ineffectiveness. Verifies physician orders. Participates in collaborative care with physicians of assigned patients, providing pertinent clinical information and contributing to clinical decision making. Maintains knowledge of all assigned patients'' conditions through regular communications with patient care members, Surgery Center staffand physicians, and the Director, through patient assessment activities and review of tests/procedure results. Manages the admission, discharge and/or transfer of patients including documentation and medication reconciliation in accordance with surgery center policies.
Education and
Experience: High School Diploma or G.E.D. required. Knowledge of nursing practice and theory at a level acquired by completion of a two year training program at an accredited School of Nursing required. BSN is preferred. One year experience in surgery preferred. State of Illinois license as Registered Nurse required.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
