Field Service Technician - Power Generation Preventative Maintenance

Ziegler Cat Power Systems division has an opening for a full-time, experienced Industrial Engine Preventative Maintenance Technician to provide scheduled maintenance on engine-powered electric power generation equipment in the field. We are looking for a dedicated employee with excellent mechanical and electrical skills to help deliver top notch service as a mechanic to our growing customer base.
Responsibilities:
Dispatched to perform scheduled maintenance on electric power generation equipment including gas and diesel engines, generators, transfer switches and switchgear at the customer's location
Respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed
Communicate job progress to supervisor and customer as needed
Complete service reports, order parts, and maintain clear customer records
2-year technical degree or several years of comparable mechanic experience
5
years of relevant experience in mechanical, electrical & diesel maintenance/repair, some field experience preferred
Knowledge of electricity and electronics, engine diagnostics, failure analysis
Previous experience working on Caterpillar engines a plus but not required
Excellent diagnostic and trouble-shooting skills, able to work well under pressure
Positive attitude and desire to provide outstanding, professional customer service
Written and verbal communication skills
Ability to maintain safe and clean work environment
Basic computer skills
Own mechanic tool set
Current CDL required and will need to obtain Hazmat endorsement
Clean driving record
