This announcement may be used to to fill other Fire Logistics Dispatch positions located in the Winnemucca District, duty location Winnemucca, Nevada. This position serves as a Fire Logistics Dispatcher in the Central Nevada Interagency Dispatch Center located in Winnemucca, Nevada. The primary purpose of this psoition is to serve as a fire logistics dispatcher in support of fire suppression activities.
Determines appropriate resource response to incidents and requests from the field and dispatches personnel, equipment, aircraft, and/or supplies.
Performs, and directs others, in receiving fire reports, determining location, land status, and current fire information.
Provides critical logistical support information to supervisor and makes recommendations concerning the efficient uses of available resources. THIS IS A DRUG TESTING DESIGNATED POSITION. In accordance with Executive Order 12564, and under the Department''s Drug Free Workplace Program. In addition, this position is subject to random testing for illegal drug use.
The duties of this position create a highly stressful environment during peak activity, requiring the ability to keep calm in emergency situations. Must be able to cope with the pressure of meeting time frames and changing priorities. During peak activity, increased radio traffic, numerous ringing phones, and conversations result in high noise levels, which require a high level of concentration to perform duties. KSA 1: Knowledge of fire management operations, dispatch procedures and resources used for the tactical and logistical support for wildland and prescribed fire incidents.
KSA 2: Knowledge of wildland fire suppression and prescribed fire strategies, tactics, methods and procedures, fire behavior, and weather conditions to effectively dispatch fire management resources, propose and update guidelines, issue internal instructions to other dispatchers, and resolve dispatch problems.
KSA 3: Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner.

Qualification Requirement Using Specialized Experience or Education: In order to be rated as qualified using specialized experience, we must be able to determine that you meet the definition(s) below; please be sure to include this information in your resume. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level of the position to be filled.
For GS-06: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least GS-05 in the federal service, as a dispatcher or experience in wildland fire, police, structure fire or other emergency related fields. Examples are performing dispatch duties for wildland fire, police or fire departments, or other emergency services including receiving, filling and tracking requests, providing logistical support information, and recording and maintaining records and communications logs.
For GS-07: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least GS-06 in Federal service, as a dispatcher or experience in wildland fire, police, structure fire or other emergency fields. Examples are performing dispatch support duties for wildland fire, police, fire departments, or other emergency services. Directs others in completing and processing requests for resources, trains lower level personnel, and coordinates with others on mobilization, reassignment and demobilization of resources.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
