Responsibilities:
The Operations Technical Lead for Upstream Operations (Fermentation And Purification) will provide leadership to the area process team, manage improvement projects and process improvements for the area, and act as a liaison between operations and multiple support groups (Engineering, Science, Quality Maintenance, etc.) in execution of improvements. The Operations Technical Lead will also have responsibilities for improving and maintaining area training modules, as well as overseeing the improvement of the maintenance strategies and maintenance execution.
Facilitate the Upstream process teams; back up Manager at Flow Team
Provide supervision to the area OJT and Maintenance Technician
Lead area process team meetings (weekly)
Develop and monitor area performance metrics and scorecard
Provide training/education on operational concepts to unit specialists
Drive operational projects in the area (safety, quality, productivity)
Provide a leadership role in process improvements developed by the Process Team
Investigate process issues, conduct root cause analysis and implement countermeasures
Use data to influence change and improvement in the operation
Ensure all safety practices, policies and rules are followed and enforced
Complete safety audits / walkthroughs as scheduled
Actively participate in all safety improvement efforts in the area
Potential to be backup to Upstream / Utilities Operations Manager
Basic
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree (or 2 years leadership experience in a GMP regulated environment)
At least 3 years bulk API manufacturing experience
Has demonstrated leadership skills and abilities.
Possess strong values toward safety and quality in manufacturing processes.
