JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for developing and sustaining strong community-based relationships with vendors and patients to consistently achieve service standards and customer satisfaction. Facilitates and provides appropriate financial education and problem resolution with a primary focus on working closely with all aspects of financial services regarding payment options, complicated benefit, billing questions, and clarification of revenue cycle processes. Financial education may also include other areas with patient/customer interfaces such as accounts payable. Collaboration and partnership with Revenue Cycle leadership will be key function of this role.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Act as a regional liaison in revenue cycle activities, implementing business processes and medical office/hospital awareness/education. Participate in regional committees and projects at the department level and part of cross functional teams within the revenue cycle.
2. Lead the development and implementation of solutions to customer issues that consider a variety of variables such as; pricing, insurance coverage, bridge assistance, deductibles, co-insurance, co-pays, coding, secondary insurance coverage, usual and customary, and payment arrangements. Provides recommendations for complex issues and unique solutions to CAO and RC VP. Provides thorough follow up to evaluate the resolution and customer satisfaction
3. Maintains strong working knowledge of revenue/financial cycle, departmental policies and procedures specific to billing, coding, and coverage's. Develops and implements internal process improvements that facilitate accurate and prompt customer service and problem resolution as well as proactively prevent reoccurrences.
4. Educate and respond to customer inquiries in accordance with state and federal laws or applicable internal policies.
5. Develop venues for communicating to the Community in a proactive manner regarding common issues that our patients are encountering, this may include development of communications for radio, newspaper, social media, community forums, standing meetings, etc. Gather information regarding key issues (metrics, billing complaints, patient experience, community feedback) and develop communication strategies to deliver solutions, improvements and increase customer confidence
6. Ensure that customers receive appropriate, responsive financial services assistance by utilizing strong communication and public relation skillset. Creates a robust customer orientation and service culture. Develops and continues to strengthen community confidence that revenue cycle issue resolution is a PeaceHealth priority that will receive prompt and thorough attention through the Liaison.
7. Connects with patients and staff in a caring, respectful manner to create a robust customer orientation and service culture.
8. Maintains strong working knowledge of revenue cycle systems, network processes and operations and community customers, payors, vendors and suppliers.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor Degree in business, accounting, finance, public relations/marketing or related area or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience/training:
Minimum of 5 years of Public Relations or Revenue Cycle experience preferably within the hospital/health care setting including knowledge of coding.
Understanding of medical terminology preferred
License/certification:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
