Our client, located in Windsor, CT is seeking an Oracle Database Engineer for an immediate contract position. Details include:


Responsibilities/Duties:
Provides engineering leadership and oversight on design, engineering and development of Database information technology solutions. Responsible for the most complex, multi-site, multi domain activities and integration. Manages the troubleshooting and resolution of infrastructure compatibility issues within the database area based on system architecture, project requirements, customer expectations. Partners with IT leadership on Database engineering related issues and strategies. May manage infrastructure engineers on a project basis.

Work with engineers to determine where the databases will reside in multi-tier distributed/shared applications, comparing hardware/infrastructure alternatives in conjunction with cost, use, growth, supportability, etc. Define database authorization rules, perform security audit, and perform platform assessment regarding proper support for the selected databases. Read and implement entity-relationship diagrams.

Handle multiple projects simultaneously and engage in problem solving on these projects. Collaborate with application architects, product managers, business analysts and technical management team to design, develop and document databases, schemas, tables, functions, triggers, procedures, relationships and other necessary aspects of the database.

Design and develop complex data models from high level business requirements. Must be able to provide design options, alternatives and recommendations based on experience and best practices for database design. Develop high performing offline processes to bulk load data into Oracle, including use of SQL Loader.

Must exhibit experience designing redundant and fault tolerant architectures for high volume OLTP and batch systems. Design and develop Information Life Cycle strategies (ILM) and ensure data integrity. Experience implementing data replication and locking strategies across parallel database infrastructures is desired. Proficient in Oracle RAC and database partitioning design and implementation.
Design and Develop monitoring tools to report and alert on significant application and system level events in Oracle using OEM.
Establish standards for documentation and ensure that all designs are documented.

Hands on experience in database architecture and physical design from several aspects: physical data model, database infrastructure requirements, product integration requirements as well as installation of new servers/databases to meet expectations and requirements of the business. Proven experience working as a database engineer and database administrator with database optimization, database infrastructure design and coding responsibilities within the OS and Database. Must have hands-on Oracle 11gR2 experience with latest tuning and optimization techniques. Experience coding high performing Oracle PL/SQL procedures to guide application areas in both OLTP and batch operations. Solid knowledge of the UNIX platform (Sun, Linux and AIX), shell scripting and experience with various development tools (VB, C#, .Net, Java).

Skills
Senior knowledge and experience with database standard concepts, practices and procedures. Have the ability to track these items within a large scale environment and communicate to diverse groups accordingly. Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision as well as provide direction and oversight to other DBA's. Perform database capacity planning.

Must have hands-on Oracle 11gR2 experience with latest tuning and optimization techniques
Strong relational and dimensional data-modeling skills. Experience designing and developing new databases and schemas is a must.
Proven Oracle performance engineering & tuning skills.
Solid database administration skills on 11g RAC, ASM in Linux, AIX and/or Solaris environments a MUST.
Database performance monitoring and tuning skills, SQL and Stored-Procedure tuning. OEM AWR/ADDM/GRID a must.
Excellent PL/SQL and SQL PLUS Development and tuning skills at both logical and system levels.
Experience with tools such as ER STUDIO, ERWIN or equivalent modeling tool is necessary.
Experience with Change Data Capture tool (CDC,Golden Gate) a plus
The candidate must demonstrate strong verbal and oral skills, excellent documentation skill.

Possess excellent proven technical, project, issue and risk management skills.


Education Advanced degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and typically eight to ten years experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
