The Chief, Social Work Service, at the VA Roseburg Healthcare System (VHAROS) has full responsibility for provision of social work services requiring regular and advanced practice skills. Incumbent is a full-time administrator for more than 30 social workers including subordinate supervisory social workers. Staff is located at the main facility and at 3 Community Based Outpatient Clinics located within VHAROS's service territory. The incumbent has full responsibility for clinical practice, program management, education, human resource management and supervision, and organizational stewardship for this social work service. The VA facility has a variety of clinical programs with a wide range of activities providing inpatient and outpatient services and treatment for patients in general medicine and surgery, medical specialty programs, geriatric and extended care, psychiatry, substance abuse, palliative care, hospice care, home-based primary care, community care, and various other ambulatory care programs, educational and program evaluation functions.
Some duties of this position include:
Responsible for defining the mission and vision of the Service Developing the scope of practice and/or privileging packets for all social workers
Designing a Social Work Service Plan of Care Assuring implementation of quality improvement measures
Responsible for developing, planning, clarifying, administering and managing Social Work Services for all areas of the healthcare system
Designates service priorities and objectives
Ensures the supervision and evaluation of all social work staff, and is responsible for supervising and evaluating the performance of supervisors
Makes independent professional decisions and recommendations
Serves as the liaison to other Services or care-lines, other facilities, VISN offices and VHA Central Office
Responsible for advising management of specific clinical or administrative issues within Social Work Service and within the medical Center Serves as a consultant, mentor, and advisor to subordinates, peers and administration
Develops procedures for, and insures the implementation and achievement of, the provision of social work services to medical facility patient in inpatient and outpatient programs
Identifies problems and corrective actions needed and reports results to top management
Exercises both administrative and professional accountability and responsibly for all social workers who are in the Social Work GS-0185 series
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

Education : Must have a master''s degree in solical work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
Licensure : Persons hired or reassigned to social owkrer poistions in the GS-0185 series in VHA must be licensed or certified by a state to independently practice social work at the master''s degree level .

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
