One of our Clients based in Silver Spring is in need of a permanent mid to senior level Java, JSP and XML developer who will be responsible for the maintenance and enhancements of new and existing application code. Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship
Summary:
-Designs, develops and implements Java applications to support business requirements. Follows approved life cycle methodologies, creates design documents and performs program coding and testing. Resolves technical issues through debugging, research and investigation. Assumes a primary role on the development staff working in a Java based environment.
-Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
-Reviews and analyzes the current system at the Java level and assists with clean up, corrects problems and adds enhancements in a reasonable time frame along with proper documentation at a senior level.
-Consults with staff members as needed to properly understand functional specifications provided.
-Ability to work with Java version 1.6 and above.
-Codes Java and related application code with a strong emphasis on code documentation, proper code deployment procedures with the ability to provide written, documented and secured application code.
-Tests all written code prior to release to other staff members for further testing.
-Assists and mentors more junior Java Developers when needed.
-Understands XML; Working knowledge of Servelts and JavaServer Pages (JSP) at a senior level.
-Uses strong analytical and problem solving skills.
-Uses good oral and written communication skills.
-Enhances job knowledge by researching new technologies and software products; participates in educational opportunities.

Responsibilities:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or
Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or University; or 5
years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of mobile technologies helpful; not required.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
