AREA OF CONSIDERATION: Permanent Presently Employed Excepted Federal Technicians in the New Mexico Army National Guard.
APPOINTMENT FACTORS: Excepted Federal Service - WARRANT OFFICER/ENLISTED (E-8 and above).
POSITION LOCATION: MATES, Joint Force Headquarters, New Mexico Army National Guard, Chaparral, New Mexico.
DATE VACANCY EXISTS: Currently exists.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: D1221000.
POSITION POTENTIAL: The top grade of this position is WS-10.
United States Citizenship is required. Direct Deposit is mandatory.
The purpose of this position is to plan work operations of great scope, complexity, and administrative authority. Determine the sequence, priority, and time for the performance of particular operations within the limits of broad work schedules and time limits. Plans use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis. Establishes deadlines, priorities, and work sequences, and plans work assignements based on general work schedules, methods, and policies set by the supervisor. Investigates work related problems such as excessive costs or low productivity and determines causes. Implements corrective actions within their authority to resolve work problems. Implements regulatory safety requirements and ensures that subordinates wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions. Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspectipons, and mobilization and command support exercises.
BASIC QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS : The basic qualification requirements are indicated below. These qualification requirements must be met, in addition to any military requirements, in order to be found qualified for and selected to this position.
GENERAL
Experience: Experience or training which demonstrates the ability to organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs; able to explain manuals and work procedures; and to prepare production records, work records and reports.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : (Please prepare written justification to the following KSAs as an attachment to your resume/application):
1. Ability to plan weekly or monthly work schedules and sequence of operations, establish deadlines and priorities based on established general schedules, methods and policies.
2. Ability to explain work requirements, methods, procedures and instruct subordinates on new procedures or methods and provide assistance on difficult or new problem areas.
3. Ability to recommend and participate in the selection of personnel to fill vacancies. Schedule and approve leave of subordinates. Set performance requirements and make formal and informal performance appraisals. Determine training needs of subordinates and arrange for its accomplishment. Counsels employees on problems.
4. Performs the non supervisory work of the function as needed, implements regulatory safety requirements and ensures that subordinates wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions.
5. Ability to work with others.
6. Ability to devise new methods.
QUALITY AND TYPE OF EXPERIENCE : The required amount of experience/education will not in itself be accepted as proof of qualification. The quality, type and scope of the experience/education must be of such nature as to demonstrate that applicants are fully qualified to perform the duties at the level for which they apply.

MILITARY COMPATIBILITY : Individual selected must be assigned, prior to appointment, to a compatible Duty Military Occupational Specialty Code of: Warrant Officer: Branch: 91; Enlisted: CMF: 91.
APPOINTMENT REQUIREMENTS : Excepted Civil Service. Individual selected must be assigned to a Warrant Officer or Enlisted position in the New Mexico Army National Guard. Individual must wear the uniform as prescribed by National Guard Bureau policies and the Adjutant General of New Mexico. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre placement physical examination.

The evaluation will be based on the knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) considered necessary for successful performance in the position. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
