IT (Software Development) Project Manager
Overview:
As an IT Project Manager, you will oversee multiple software development projects that are part of a large-scale IT transformation and enterprise-wide IT process-improvement for our federal client. You will confer with clients to determine needs, expectations and priorities so that project scope and requirements can be defined. You will then develop project plans and estimates and provide the critical path for the project, while ensuring that you have sufficient resources to meet all targets and deadlines. You will facilitate the process throughout the software development life cycle from initial analysis and design all the way through to implementation and user acceptance testing. Another important component of your role as an IT Project Manager will be to supervise and motivate the various IT professionals who form your project team.
Responsibilities:
Managing large federal IT programs and overseeing a decentralized team.
Defining, understanding, and monitoring the performance of projects
Expertise in the management and control of funds and resources
Ability to provide guidance and direction to staff of different skills and seniority.
Leading and integrating elements of complex projects to achieve desired results by setting strategically aligned goals
Working with project/program teams to identify and document issues, create action items, organize and conduct meetings, resolve problems and maintain clear, consistent communications among stakeholders
Developing, updating and managing reports and measures for projects and programs
Developing, adjusting and/or redesigning business processes requirements
Establishing and maintaining overall project quality standards
Qualifications/Required Skills:
Experience in managing software development projects
Proven experience in data migration strategies and creating interfaces between systems
Proven experience in implementing a tiered architecture using J2EE technologies
Experience in virtualized / cloud-based environments, Search Technologies, Software Agents (Intelligent Software Agents), ETL, Unix (HP, AIX, Linux) , Windows, Apache/Tomcat/WebServers/JBOSS
Experience in Agile Scrum and traditional Waterfall project frameworks
SOA (Services-Oriented Technical architecture) experience
Enterprise Service Bus/Enterprise Technical architecture, Distributed computing, including client-server, 3-tier (CORBA, Java EE (J2EE) and Web-based)
SQL database implementations including Oracle DB, DOA, Stored Procedures, ORM
Java, C# Struts (1 and 2), Spring, XML Technologies, UML, C++, JSP, ASP.NET, JUNIT and Eclipse
Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred) and a minimum of 8-10 years of consulting experience managing mission-critical projects
Strong experience in MS Project, MS Project Server, MS Office and SharePoint
PMP certification required
Scrum Master and ITIL certifications a plus
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
