ABOUT THE COMPANY:
My client is a stable and growing healthcare company in north Nashville; they are seeking to add a Staff Accountant to their team. This company boasts great benefits and training.
Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for performing many of the day-to-day activities of the Accounting Department. This includes but is not limited to the following: Assisting with general ledger activities, Performing month-end closing activities; Preparing month-end account reconciliations; Assisting with Accounts Payable, Assisting with daily cash reconciliation, Assisting with all other daily activities of the Accounting Department and performing special projects as directed by the CFO, Controller, and Assistant Controller.
Essential Job Functions:
Complete monthly bank reconciliations
Maintain fixed asset ledgers on a monthly basis
Perform month end closing responsibilities including, but not limited to, journal entries, expense review, accruals and intercompany transactions
Balance sheet account reconciliations on a monthly basis.
Accounts Payable
Sorting and the coding of payable, resolving Accounts Payable issues with vendors.
The processing of the 1099s at the end of the year.
Perform general ledger accruals, month end, and year end transactions along with various analyses, reports and special projects for the Controller; and other assigned duties as needed.
Monthly statistics - Unit and Department
Experience preferred for the Staff Accountant:
2 years or more of healthcare accounting experience
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
Advanced Excel and HOST software experience
Must be knowledgeable in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Experience in multi-entity general ledger close, financial statement preparation and account reconciliation.
LifePoint/Parallon/HCA/ experience preferredEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
